2.5 million Kinect sold in 25 days

Microsoft's Xbox Kinect is selling like hot cakes with 2.5 million sets shipped within the first 25 days since its launch on November 4, according to the Redmond giant. If you do your math, that's 100,000 of these handfree motion controllers flying off shelves a day around the globe. US-based Target has even listed the Kinect as a top performer at the recent US Black Friday sales over the last weekend.

With the high demand, Microsoft has stepped forward to assure consumers that it is working closely with its manufacturing partners to keep up with supply to achieve its forecasted 5 million unit target this holiday session. This should pacify gamers as well as researchers keen to try out the full-body gaming or hack the addon for its 3D tracking capability.

We're just wondering whether Sony is shipping comparable units of PlayStation Move for the PS3 to match the Kinect, though both accessories offer a different experience out-of-the-box. So is it Kinect, Move or Wii Motion Plus you're getting this Christmas? Share your thoughts in the Talkback below?
